Bus Tickets from Montreal Bus Terminal to Ottawa

It was a smooth trip. The driver was really nice and pleasant. The bus was clean, comfortable and not too cold. I usually get cold easily and it wasn’t bad at all. Only had my hoodie on, I even brought a blanket but I ended up using it as a pillow. Didn’t get a chance to use the washroom but it didn’t smell in the bus.

I recently used this intercity bus service for a trip from Ottawa to Montreal, and the experience was deeply disappointing due to miscommunication, poor coordination, and unprofessional conduct. 🚐 No Advance Notice About Minivan The vehicle was not a proper shuttle or bus, but a small, unmarked minivan with no visible company signage. There was absolutely no prior notice that a minivan would be used instead of the expected shuttle bus. For passengers unfamiliar with the service, this lack of transparency leads to unnecessary stress and confusion. 📍 Misleading Pickup Location & Zero Guidance To ensure I wouldn’t miss the ride, I intentionally planned to return my rental car 15 minutes before departure, to a location that was just a 1-minute walk from the pickup point shown on the ticket. After returning the car, I had about 10 minutes to search for the bus — and I used every second of it. Carrying a ~20kg backpack and hand-carry bag, I: Ran across the entire pickup area, including the bus terminal and buildings around the company’s banner site Approached and asked nearly every shuttle or van I saw — none were the correct vehicle Repeatedly stood at the exact pinned location on the ticket The driver did call me right around the scheduled departure time. On the phone, I clearly told him I was already at the pinned location, actively searching. He replied with just one word: “OK” — and offered no further information, such as: Where exactly he had stopped What the vehicle looked like Which street or corner to go to Later I discovered that he had parked behind the bus terminal, a location nowhere mentioned on the ticket or signage. In other words, if I hadn’t found the minivan on my own — by running around in the dark — I would’ve missed the trip and been unfairly fined, despite being present on time. ⌛️ Unprofessional Attitude I eventually found the minivan and boarded about 5 minutes after the scheduled time, and was met with public scolding from the driver, who said, “We’re late because of you.” This was not only humiliating but also completely unfair, considering I had: Followed the instructions on the ticket exactly Arrived early Received no help when I asked Carried heavy bags while running around searching I still took the time to apologize to the other passengers, who were understanding. 📵 Unsafe Driving During the trip, the driver was on the phone almost the entire time, speaking in a casual tone while driving. This type of distracted driving is unsafe and unprofessional — especially for a paid transportation service. 🚫 Summary This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had. Here’s why: ❌ No prior notice about the minivan format ❌ Incorrect pickup location listed on the ticket ❌ No helpful directions or communication from the driver ❌ Scolding a passenger who followed instructions ❌ Unsafe driving behavior If the driver had left without me, I would’ve been unfairly marked as a no-show and fined, despite doing everything right.
